5/6 January, 1941; MINELAYING:

Ten of the unit's aircraft were dispatched on minelaying sorties, 5 being successful. On return, the remaining aircraft were diverted to St Eval, but tragically P4322 piloted by Gordon Price DFM, failed to land. The Hampden is believed to have crashed into the sea 20 miles off the South coast; all four crew members were reported missing.
