Reported lost without trace, possibly in the English Channel.
Operation PHYSICIAN 32, France.

Information received from Francis Suttill:
"My father was Major Francis SUTTILL, organiser of the Physician circuit in France. I have been researching all the parachute operations he organised and recently found some more information about Operation Physician 32/Charlotte - the latter presumably being an agent going to another circuit.

On TNA file AIR 27/1068, there is a note which says "Later news received from a secret source to the effect that aircraft fitting the description of DG406 was seen to be shot down in flames by ground flak at a position in the vicinity of Beauvais which was near his second pinpoint. Reported that first operation had been carried out successfully."

Agents were usually taken to their drop point before containers were dropped so it looks as though Charlotte dropped successfully. I do not know whether the second part of the operation delivering containers to a group near Beauvais was completed before the aircraft was shot down.

At least something was achieved."
