Aircraft DH 9 serial C2196 was shot up by enemy aircraft whilst low bombing near Pont les Brie and Amiens on the 8th August 1918.
Observer Lt J. Ross was sadly killed in the action whilst the Pilot Lt M.D. Allen survived OK.
Lt Ross had previously survived several crashes and forced landings with Lt Allen........30th June 1918 & 1st July 1918.
The headstone is very weathered and the text is extremely difficult to read
