There is no record that this airmen flew operations with 49sqn.

However, information recently discovered indicates that he was posted to 49Sqn for Air Gunner and Wireless Operator training during June & July 1942.

F/L Porteous was killed on 20th May 1944 during a raid on Le Mans with 7Sqn......this was his 60th operation.



He is buried in the Le Mans West Cemetery.
