Geoff Pawsey was in 49 Squadron at Christmas Island and Maralinga where he was a cockpit technician. We knew he was proud of his work on the Vickers Valiants.
Unfortunately, although he knew his service number off by heart we can't find it written down.
After his time in Australia, he was working on a plane when a jet went past too close and blew him off the aircraft and he shattered his knee.
He was pensioned out after a long stay at Ely RAF hospital having had a knee replacement in his 20s.
The RAF then paid for him to continue his telecommunications training with PYE.
