On the 9th October 1918, Sgt Dodson was flying as an Observer with 2/Lt Crich in a DH9.....serial D1108.
Their DH9 was damaged by enemy aircraft near Aulnoye. Sgt Dodson is recorded as being "unhurt" but died one month later.
There is the possibility that he was, in fact, injured in the attack and died of his wounds or that he was a victim of the flu epidemic.
