Their usual Lancaster ED497 (EA-C for Charlie) at one of RAF Fiskerton's dispersal points.

A magnificent view of ED497, click this link for a larger version (in a new window).

It was unknown to the Association that Sgt (later F/O) Dales was posted to 426 Squadron based at Linton on Ouse, Yorkshire.

He became a PoW when his aircraft was lost on the 29th January 1945.......click this link for details (opens in a new window).

The PoW camp where he was held is not known but his incarceration would have been mercifully short.
