Their DH9 (E658) was one of three aircraft shot down on a mission to bomb Aulnoye railway junction on 24th September 1918.
The pilot Lt H J Bennett was severely burned and died that day.
2/Lt R.H. Armstrong survived and was taken prisoner.
Lt Bennett was eventually buried at Cabaret Rouge, France.
