Earlier in his career we have the following incident recorded.
On the 10th March 1918 while flying in a DH4 (serialC4526) the aircraft crashed on landing due faulty judgement after strain of a long high recce flight.
Both 2Lt HL Rough and 2Lt V Deschfield were uninjured.
