Additional career information via Tom Morris:

After the Valiant was grounded at the end of 1964,  I was posted to the Bloodhound SAM2 world and spent some years as an Engagement Controller, Training Officer and MOD Staff officer on all SAMs.  In between posts I served at RAF Topcliffe as Flight Commander (Flying) at the AEO training School.  Fortunately after promotion to Squadron Leader, I commanded B Flt, 25 Sqn at Wildenrath and after another MOD staff appointment, joined HQ AAFCE as a Tactical Evaluation Project Officer on Hawk and Nike missiles deployed across NATO. I then returned to flying with a Victor K2 tour on 55 Sqn - including the Falklands War - and subsequently as OC Victor K2 Standards Unit.  A tour at ATOC2 in Masstricht and promotion to Wing Commander was followed by my last tour at MOD where my 'high falutin' title was "Staff Officer Comms and Info Systems (Space and Intelligence)". After 31 years service, retirement to join BAe Systems at Warton followed.
