Aircraft DH 9 serial E8869 missing from operations on Aulnoye 24/9/18 - last seen in combat. The Pilot Cpt E.D. Asbury and Observer 2/Lt B.T. Gillman were sadly both killed.

The artifact is believed to be an original wooden laminated propeller which was used to power the generator on a DH9 (as used by 49Sqn).
The name of Captain Asbury is shown as is the name of his
batman...AM1 C Hill. The date of death is also engraved.
E.8869 is the serial number of the aircraft.
