JACK GADSBY DFM

A/C2 John Gadsby started his remarkable operational association with the Hampden with F/Lt Lerwill and crew, against the "Deutchland" in December 1939, and it concluded on 19/20 April, 1942 with his final trip to Terschelling with the Burton crew (AT180). By then, Jack had completed an astounding 67 operational flights in Hampdens, including the famous Dortmund-Ems attack in which Learoyd earned his Victoria Cross.
Very few men can claim such a proud record and justly, Jack Gadsby DFM is held in extremely high esteem by his fellow 49er survivors.
