My Dad was a member of the 49 squadron
ground crew in the gunnery section.
He was seconded to 617 squadron at the time of the 'Dambusters'
mission and was on a couple of the trial flights, tree hopping
and over the Derwent dam. One claim to fame was that he sometimes
took Guy Gibson's dog for a walk and was there the day it was
run over. Luckily he wasn't in charge at the time. I understand
that some may know him as 'Syd'.
Dad, Cyril Gosling, is on the front row on the right hand end.
